How does the project progettosmilla.it 2007 works (in short)
1.
ENROLMENT – It’s free and open to everybody, just filling in an online form.
All Italian schools can participate with a maximum of 50 students per school. The project addresses to students of age 13-18.

2.
You will be then asked to send an E-MAIL to confirm and precise as follows:
- one or more ANDRILL subjects that the classroom is going to deepen
- one final product (in power-point, on a web site, an exhibition at the end of the school year, other)
- one date for the meeting with the participating classrooms, starting from January 2008.

3.
The participating school is entitled to:
• 2 pieces of didactics materials about Antarctica and ANDRILL (DVD, stickers, brochures, …)
• participation to all online activities for teachers: specific reports for teachers published on the web and concerning each single enrolled school, containing ideas, proposals, lab activities, …
• a free visit at your school from a teacher who has been in Antarctica in order to meet those classes participating to the project and to discuss the subject choosen
• participation to all online activities for students: i.e. chat, videoconferences, e-mailing to teachers and researchers now working in Antarctica
• both teachers and students participating have at their own disposal a whole staff made of researchers and teachers always ready to answer their questions about all scientific (and not) topic regarding ANDRILL and Antarctica
• a lot of smilla-teachers who have participated in 2006 (about ten of them coming from about ten different Italian regions) are at disposal for giving information and support to their colleagues (the new smilla-teachers) of their territories during the different project steps.

FOR TEACHERS

The progettosmilla offers numerous and non-repetitive opportunities.
The components are simple: One teacher, one continent and an advance scientific research, and entire update availability for their own activities during whole academic year.

Without any fee and bureaucracy!

The progettosmilla does not make miracles, but if you are searching a way for satisfying the curiosity of students, put them into the core of international scientific research, in a challenging environment, into debate and reasoning related to a complex subject matters, adopt ( with precise objectives, finally!) the new technology and why not- improve our professional attitude, well! Let’s not lose the contact.
